Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for partnering with all sites’ management/operation heads of Upstream Steel Division to execute company’s Safety, Health and Environment policies and ensure compliance to all applicable regulations;
- Responsible for creating and compliance to standard operating procedure relate to SHE for respective site (when applicable) and evaluate and administer company policy and procedures;
- Align, implement and maintain assigned SHE programs in accordance with SHE Management Systems requirements which includes Environment, Health or Safety related programs to the sites;
- Coordinate investigations of injuries, near misses and property damage incidents and follow through on implementation of corrective and preventive actions;
- Coordinate life safety systems activities such as fire drills in all sites;
- Stay up to date and in compliance with relevant local regulations;
- Maintain ethical and positive networking with relevant government bodies such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, MPSP, KPDNHEP;
- Responsible for meeting third party requirements of the building, such as Federal, State and (where applicable) local agencies, including but not limited to OSHA, and for liaising with regulators;
- Schedules pre-event meeting(s) with general service contractors and/or decorators to review all safety requirements, communication planning needs and planning for all aspects of a safe event;
- Performs safety inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been abated;
- Ensure all safety performance data / files / records and logs are properly maintained and correctly managed;
- Responsible for SHE training programs and leadership programs
- Provides oversight and quality assurance for all incident reporting data and reporting;
- To develop, review and upgrade on AJ Group’s existing safety, health and environment programs, and to execute to ensure all good practices are embedded efficiently and effectively;
- Gathering data on environmental factors such as pollution levels, greenhouse gas emissions, and water quality;
- Developing plans to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint through energy efficient building design, recycling programs, and use of alternative energy sources;
- Developing and implementing educational programs about environmental issues, such as climate change;
- Developing and implementing programs that reduce waste from the organization’s operations, including recycling programs, composting initiatives, and green purchasing programs;
- Conducting audits of company compliance with industry standards for environmental protection;
- Developing plans for the use of renewable energy sources, such as wind farms or solar panels
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Occupational Health & Safety or any equivalent;
- At least 10 years of working experience in the related field and minimum 5 years working as manager position;
- OSHE practitioner with good knowledge in Safety, Health and Environmental;
- Certified Safety Health Officer (SHO) is an advantage;
- Well versed with applicable acts & its regulations such as Factories & Machinery Act 1967, Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 will be an added advantage;
- Proficient command of written and spoken English skills mandatory;
- Ability to manage and lead multiple matters /projects simultaneously preferable;
- Strong Interpersonal /Influencing skills, independent, analytical, and strategic skills preferable
