Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant Department: Quality Assurance Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager / Production Manager Location: Huat Huat Kouping (M) Sdn Bhd, Muar, Johor Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Assistant will support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring that all pastry products meet the company’s quality standards, food safety regulations, and customer expectations. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and maintaining documentation to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards. Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Perform visual, sensory, and physical checks on pastry products (e.g., size, shape, color, texture). Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, or other relevant standards). Assist in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the production area. Monitor and record temperature, humidity, and other critical control points during production and storage. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality checks, test results, and non-conformance reports. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management review. Assist in updating SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals. Non-Conformance Management: Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from standards. Assist in investigating root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Ensure non-conforming products are properly segregated and handled. Training and Support: Assist in training production staff on quality standards, food safety practices, and GMP. Support the QA team in internal and external audits. Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency. Suggest improvements to processes, equipment, and procedures to reduce waste and improve quality. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in quality assurance or food production (preferably in the food manufacturing industry). Fresh graduates with relevant internships may also be considered. Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000). Familiarity with quality control tools and techniques. Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work in a production setting and handle physical tasks (e.g., standing for long periods, lifting samples). Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in a production environment with exposure to flour, sugar, and other food ingredients.
