Key Responsibilities

1. Transport Operations Management

  • Oversee daily transportation activities, including route planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries while optimizing fleet utilization.
  • Monitor and manage transport KPIs, including on-time delivery performance, fleet efficiency, and cost control.
  • Supervise drivers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Monitor driver performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and avoid disruptions.
  • Monitor transport expenses, including fuel consumption, tolls, and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure high service levels and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Handle delivery exceptions, delays, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to align transport plans with inventory movements.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety among drivers and conduct regular safety training.
  • Investigate and report transport-related accidents or incidents.
  • Utilize Transport Management Systems (TMS) to track and monitor fleet performance.
  • Prepare reports on transport activities, including cost analysis, fuel usage, and service levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and process optimization.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in transport operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of fleet management, route planning, and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in TMS, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
