Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects under the guidance of the Design Lead and Business Development team.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding design-related matters, understand their requirements, and convey clear objectives to the team.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
- Work independently and proactively, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills both individually and within a team.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of design trends, construction methodologies, and the appropriate application of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E).
- Design within project parameters, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline constraints.
- Continuously research and enhance design knowledge and skills, both independently and collaboratively.
- Adapt to an increasingly paperless work environment, with a strong commitment to sustainability.
- Ensure high design quality within the project team while mentoring and coaching junior designers to enhance collaboration and skill development.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian building codes and local Building-By-Laws, while effectively executing space planning.
- Provide clear and structured project status reports to superiors.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business and project goals.
- Oversee quality control for all design document deliverables presented to clients.
- Align work with company and department strategies, planning, and targets while fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Adhere to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the company’s Integrated Management System (ISO9001, ISO37001, ISO45001, ISO14001).
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience managing the entire project lifecycle.
- Proven ability to lead both Design Consultancy and Design & Build projects.
