Job Overview:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position plays a key role in managing accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, compliance, audits, and month-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management.
  • Provide analysis on financial performance, including key trends, variances, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage staffing levels and workload distribution to meet deadlines.
  • Provide coaching and training to team members on accounting principles and software systems.

General Ledger & Journal Entries:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s general ledger.
  • Ensure all journal entries are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Month-End & Year-End Close:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors during the audit process.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with tax regulations and support tax filings as necessary.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

System & Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline accounting operations.
  • Work with the IT department to ensure the accounting software system is effective and up to date.

Other Duties:

  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 1 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Autocount etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

· Working Location: Jalan Glasiar, Taman Tasek, Johor Bahru.

· 5 days' work week, Monday to Friday

· 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
