Summary:
The Legal Manager is a managerial role, responsible to provide legal support and advises on wide range of legal affairs of the Group, and in managing legal risk with various stakeholders. The Legal Manager will manage and lead the development of legal and regulatory requirements, standards and practice across the organization/business units of the Group. This role is expected to work in collaboration with the Compliance team on the legal and regulatory requirements for the legal and compliance projects. To succeed in this Legal Manager role, you must be agile, independent, a good team-player with positive attitude to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
- To draft, review, advise and lead on negotiations of legal agreements/documents and transactions concerning the organization and its subsidiaries (“Group”)’s wide range of businesses, commercial products and services, including non-financial agreements and in-house support services contracts.
- To handle the legal documentations and involvement of the Group’s projects and initiatives on digitalization and technology related agreements. Involvement on data privacy and protection’s legal requirements.
- To manage various stakeholders of the Group on the legal and regulatory risk and render legal advices with respect to matters from the various business and support departments of the Group including but without limitation to credit operations, human resource, procurement, technology, marketing and business development.
- To lead and drive legal and regulatory matters in relation to all projects and initiatives by the Group, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including identifying legal and regulatory issues and advises.
- To assist on the Group’s standardization of legal documentation, processes and templates, including reviewing and improving templates of agreements and terms and conditions. This includes developing new templates in relation to the Group’s new and current businesses, products and/or services.
- To update with the latest developments or revision of the relevant laws and regulations applicable to the Group and keep abreast of the legal landscape and framework development especially in the financial services sector and electronic money market.
- To manage legal disputes and complaints and assist in management of Legal Department’s panel of lawyers.
- To provide legal training/updates to the Group’s internal stakeholders.
- Such other tasks and/or responsibilities including ad hoc tasks assigned from time to time by the Head of Legal Department.
