Cashier - Fashion Industry

Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Processing: Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring proper changes and receipts are given to customers.
• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide a positive shopping experience during checkout.
• Sales Support: Assist in the preparation of sales transactions, including applying discounts, promotions, and gift cards where applicable.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about store promotions, sales events, and new product arrivals to effectively communicate with customers at the checkout.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the cashier station clean and organized, ensuring that the checkout area is ready for customers at all times.
• Customer Returns and Exchanges: Process returns, exchanges, and refunds following store policies, ensuring that customer issues are resolved efficiently and courteously.
• Cash Handling and Balancing: Safely handle cash and credit transactions, perform cash register balancing at the end of shifts, and report any discrepancies to management.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations, including assisting with stock replenishment and organizing the store during busy periods.
• Security and Loss Prevention: Monitor customer activity to prevent theft and report any suspicious behavior to store management.
• Adhere to Policies: Follow all store policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and customer service standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail/customer service role preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
• Ability to handle cash and perform basic math.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a retail environment, particularly in the fashion or apparel industry.
• Basic knowledge of sales tax and payment processing systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RM2,200.00 per month
