
Boarding Teacher
Job Overview:
The Boarding Teacher plays a key role in fostering a supportive, structured, and safe living environment for students in the school’s boarding facility. This role requires an individual who can act as a mentor, guardian, and role model for students while ensuring their well-being, discipline, and personal growth in alignment with the school’s values and policies. We are specifically looking for an expatriate candidate with international experience in boarding or pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, guidance, and pastoral care for boarding students.
- Create a safe and supportive residential environment that fosters students' personal, social, and academic development.
- Assist students with their daily routines, including wake-up, meal times, study hours, and bedtime.
- Enforce school and boarding house rules while maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Monitor students' well-being and provide first-line support in case of emotional or disciplinary issues.
- Organize and facilitate recreational and extracurricular activities within the boarding house.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding students’ welfare and progress.
- Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the boarding facilities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents, following school protocols.
- Support students with their academic progress by creating a conducive study environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities.
Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a pastoral or boarding environment is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and discipline students in a firm yet compassionate manner.
- High level of responsibility, patience, and adaptability.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- First Aid certification or willingness to undergo training is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
- Experience working in an international boarding school or with multicultural student communities is highly preferred.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
