Business Development Manager
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for expanding the client base and driving growth in the multi-assets brokerage sector. This includes developing and executing strategies to acquire new clients, form partnerships, and expand market presence across a diverse range of assets. The BDM will also be responsible for identifying market opportunities, nurturing key relationships, and supporting the growth of the business by targeting retail traders, institutional investors, and other strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition and Retention:
- Identify and acquire new retail and institutional clients, expanding the brokerage’s client base across various asset classes.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Develop personalised strategies for on boarding clients and ensuring they are equipped with the tools to succeed on the trading platform.
Market Development and Research:
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to identify new business opportunities within multi-asset trading markets.
- Explore new market segments, product offerings, and geographic areas for expansion to ensure continued growth of the brokerage.
Strategic Partnerships and Networking:
- Build and manage partnerships with financial institutions, introducing brokers, third-party service providers, and key industry players to drive growth and improve the firm's market presence.
- Engage in networking activities, attending industry events, and identifying opportunities to collaborate with potential partners to create value for the brokerage.
Sales and Business Strategy:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business growth targets in both retail and institutional sectors.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement campaigns to attract new clients and enhance brand awareness in the multi-assets space.
Product Knowledge and Promotion:
- Gain a deep understanding of the firm’s multi-assets products and services to effectively communicate their value propositions to clients.
- Promote trading platforms, risk management tools, and other financial products to both new and existing clients.
Negotiations and Deal Closure:
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with new clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements are made, and clients are on boarded successfully.
- Provide consultative selling and tailor offerings based on the needs and preferences of each client.
Client Education and Support:
- Provide ongoing education and guidance to clients on trading strategies, the firm’s platform, and market trends to help clients maximise their trading potential.
- Work with the client support and relationship teams to ensure seamless communication and resolve any client issues promptly.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure all business development activities comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and legal requirements.
- Work closely with the compliance department to manage risk and ensure the brokerage meets regulatory standards.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor and track sales performance, client acquisition, and retention rates, providing regular reports to senior management on business development activities and achievements.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary to meet performance targets.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client management in the financial services or brokerage industry, with a focus on multi-assets or trading services.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and various asset classes.
- Proven track record in client acquisition, retention, and relationship management.
- In-depth knowledge of trading platforms and products, including CFDs and other multi-asset classes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and self-motivation.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and other sales tools to track and manage leads and clients.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with international clients or expanding into new geographic markets.
- Existing relationships with institutional investors, introducing brokers, or key market partners.
- Familiarity with financial regulations governing multi-asset trading and brokerage services.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
