Chemist

Job Purpose 1. The chemist will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality, conducting research and development activities, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves supervising QC processes within the production plant, conducting R&D trials, analyzing test results, and supporting preventive maintenance of laboratory and QC equipment. 2. Quality Control (QC) Supervision: • Oversee quality checks in the production plant to ensure compliance with standards. • Implement and refine quality control • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations. • Monitor and review quality check processes to ensure consistency and reliability. • Assist to execute Material Review Board (MRB) and Temporary Change Notice (TCN) procedures. • Execute inspections of incoming raw material and trading items to ensure compliance with specifications • Work closely with supplier to address quality issues and improve material consistency • Coordinate with Supply Chain Department, Warehouse and Production teams to manage rejected material effectively. 2. Research & Development (R&D): • Plan and execute R&D projects to enhance product quality and performance includes raw materials and packaging materials. • Conduct trial runs and assess product improvements through various testing methods. • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from lab tests and field trials. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process innovation and optimization. 3. Testing & Data Analysis: • Conduct various product tests (shelf life, pond test, hot & cold cycle, gap test, etc.). • Compile and review detailed data from trials and quality assessments. • Generate technical reports and recommendations based on findings. 4. Laboratory & QC Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: • Assist in preventive maintenance of laboratory and QC equipment to ensure accurate testing. • Work with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and calibrate lab instruments. • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines in laboratory operations. • Perform regular calibration of laboratory and QC equipment to ensure testing accuracy and reliability. 5. Continuous Improvement & Compliance: • Develop and implement process improvements and a quality management system to enhance efficiency and quality. • Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. • Support initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and OEE improvement projects.
