Job Responsibility
- Responsible for overseeing assigned furniture category within the company, including product selection, product development, inventory management, vendor relationships management, sales performance, margin management & promotion negotiation.
- Support Director & HOD in executing comprehensive category strategy for the furniture department, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends to identify new furniture products, brands, and suppliers to enhance the category assortment.
- Source and negotiate favourable terms and conditions with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery of furniture products.
- Build and maintain good relationships with existing furniture vendors, seeking opportunities for collaboration and driving vendor performance improvement.
- Regularly review and optimize the furniture product assortment, identifying underperforming products and introducing new ones to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Visit store and collaborate with the store operations team to ensure proper merchandising, product placement, and visual displays for the furniture category.
- Manage stock and catalogue commitment in line with agreed promotional activities and peak sales opportunities.
- Always manage catalogue planning, ensuring catalogues meet customer profiles and reflects the correct range of product mix to fully maximize on market opportunities.
- Manage healthy inventory and inventory turn. Review product performance from time to time, to reduce Aged stock bucket.
- Preferably BachelorĂ¢s Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or having equivalent relevant experience in retail-buying or category management.
- Knowledge & Experience : Minimum 1-2 years working experience in business related role.
- Preferably in the furniture retail industry, modern trade, sales account management or ecommerce retailing background.
- Good analytical skills and proficient in Excel, PowerPoint & Google Workspace.
- Fast and good execution power. Detailed follow up and committed toward job completion.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with others.
- Good knowledge of furniture product trends, styles, materials, and construction techniques is a plus.
