Environmental, Sustainability and Governance Executive

Purpose of the Role : Zuellig Pharma’s ability is to strengthen our impacts for next generations and for the communities we serve will require further operationalization at market level. The attention of our clients is now on market performance and audits. Impactful and cost-efficient decarbonization initiatives require in-depth and on-the-ground analysis, led by an ESG Lead able to dedicate their time to leading these complex cross-functional workstreams.
Our three other sustainability pillars (improving health outcomes, nurturing talent and setting the highest standards of integrity), will also require a capable and dynamic leader, able to raise awareness, create a culture of sustainability, design strategically relevant initiatives and rally leaders and teams around our agenda.
Expectations of the Role:
Drive decarbonization efforts
- GHG emissions reduction (including actual reduction before use of carbon credits).
- Implementation of decarbonization initiatives by markets and other regional functions.
- Cost-efficiency of decarbonization investment.
Center of Excellence model
- Trainings, collaterals and plans develop to upskill teams across the organization, inspire and educate.
- Development of frameworks to monitor and drive performance within the organization.
Sustainability Engagement
- Engagement levels of the organization on areas supported by Zuellig Pharma (mental wellbeing, DEI…).
- Participation rate of the organization to sustainability-themed activities throughout the year to increase momentum around sustainability.
- Impact of activities and partnerships led by clients and customers.
Sustainability Communications and awareness
- Reach and impact of annual Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-aligned Sustainability Report.
- Creation of internal and external communications assets around Sustainability (brochures, onboarding decks, infographics).
- Create a culture of sustainability within the organization.
Establish data-driven targets for the organisation
• Build robust quantitative indicators to design achievable yet ambitious roadmaps.
• Work with data team to develop interactive internal dashboards within data portal.
Embed Sustainability within the organisation
• Partner with other functions to integrate sustainability within key operations.
• Work with countries to deliver on sustainability goals.
Partner external organisations
• Form strong partnerships with key external stakeholders (clients, customers, suppliers).
• Establish strategic relationships with relevant sustainability partners (international bodies, associations etc).
Deliver impacts across all pillars of our Sustainability framework
• Improved Health Outcomes for the communities we serve.
• Team wellbeing & engagement.
• Improved standards of integrity and care for patients in the markets where we operate.
Drive performance across markets
- Develop performance management frameworks to assess and drive performance and ensure the whole organization is delivering on our Sustainability agenda.
ESG Audits
- Support all audits that are relevant to ESG in the markets (i.e., annual External Assurance Process, mock ESG audits, ESG audits initiated by Clients, etc.)
- Ensure ESG audits run smoothly by understanding the scope of the audit, training the teams involved, ensuring the relevant documents and data are in place before the audits commence
Ensure compliance with regulations
- Monitor current and upcoming regulations.
- Ensure the organization is in line with regulation and has the means to stay abreast of future regulatory requirements.
Sustainability VAS
- Engage with Clients to identify needs, develop VAS to address their requirements, in partnership with BD and relevant functions.
Attributes Required:
Must-Have:
- Bachelor Degree in relevant field (e.g. Environmental Management, Sustainability Development) is an added advantage
- Minimum 4-6 years’ working experience mainly in ESG or sustainability roles
Advantage to Have:
- Knowledge of sustainability experience
