Business Development Director
About the Role
In this exciting role, you will be leading Ampotech’s expansion into Malaysia. The Business Development Director will be responsible for promoting Ampotech’s brand in the local market, acquiring customers and channel partners, and building up the local sales and support team. The successful candidate will have experience selling renewable energy and solar O&M solutions or smart energy products/solutions for the energy sector and a strong network with local companies in the rooftop solar, energy services, and manufacturing sectors.
Responsibilities
- Grow Ampotech’s sales pipeline in Malaysia for solar asset management and energy efficiency solutions
- Represent Ampotech at trade shows, networking events, and pitch meetings to customers
- Negotiate and close deals with enterprise clients, while providing strategic input to management on local market conditions, pricing, competitive landscape, and user feedback
- Work with group level HR and top management in Singapore to support recruitment in Malaysia to build our local team
- Collaborate with sales and engineering staff in Ampotech’s other offices to learn about and share use cases, provide feedback for the product roadmap,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 10 years of B2B sales experience in the energy sector or a closely related field
- Experience supervising direct reports in sales, marketing, or engineering
- Experience working in a startup or similar environment is desirable
- Responsible and self-motivated with high integrity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Malay
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Willingness to travel
