Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Team Support
- Ensures the correct implementation of Scrum and Agile best practices within the team.
- Facilitates Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Works closely with the Product Owner to organize and optimize the backlog, ensuring the team is aligned with the project goals.
- Encourages self-organization within the development team, ensuring they work efficiently and autonomously.
Delivery & Performance Optimization
- Tracks velocity and other Agile metrics to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Identifies and removes impediments to ensure smooth sprint execution.
- Ensures deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards, especially when dealing with high-pressure, event-driven timelines.
- Supports the team in adapting to shifting priorities, particularly during major sports events that require real-time adjustments.
Collaboration & Communication
- Helps align the development process with the broader strategy of UEFA Digital, working closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, Developers, and Business Stakeholders.
- English proficiency is essential, as the Scrum Master must facilitate discussions with international teams.
- Continuous Improvement & Agile Coaching
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting process enhancements.
- Encourages the adoption of Agile mindsets across the organization, coaching team members on Agile principles when necessary.
- Drives retrospectives that lead to actionable insights and measurable improvements. Travel & Face-to-Face Collaboration
- Given the distributed nature of the team, the Scrum Master must be available to travel every three months for 2-3 days to participate in in-person team meetings and planning sessions.
Key Skills & Experience
- 5-7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in software development teams, ideally in high-traffic digital platforms.
- Strong Agile methodologies (Scrum) knowledge backed by certifications like PSM, CSM, or equivalent.
- Experience in sports-related or event-driven projects, where the ability to manage tight deadlines and sudden changes is critical.
- Excellent soft skills: communication, conflict resolution, and leadership.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure efficiency and delivery without micromanagement.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and similar Agile tools.
- Fluent in English (C1/C2 level) to manage communications with global teams.
