Hudson Recruitment is partnering with a global luxury group to hire an Accountant for their Finance Shared Services team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a great opportunity to join a renowned organization with a strong presence in fashion, leather goods, jewelry, and beauty.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing full sets of accounts, financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance. This role also plays a critical part in process transformation, internal controls implementation, and driving efficiency within the finance shared services function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full sets of accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for month-end and year-end closing, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Support statutory reporting, audits, corporate tax, and GST submissions, including preparing audit schedules, financial statements, and addressing audit queries.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining an internal controls framework in alignment with corporate policies.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, supporting the finance shared services team’s goal of becoming fully digital.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Supervise and guide junior team members, ensuring strong team collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Support fast-close accounting processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Participate in financial systems transformation projects, working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Blackline.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc assignments as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, with professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or ICAEW preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2-3 years in a public accounting firm (Big 4 experience is highly preferred).
  • Prior experience in a multinational company (MNC) with a hybrid reporting structure is an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in financial systems transformation and process improvements is a plus.
  • Self-driven, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • People management experience is a plus.
