Your key responsibilities:


  • Category Strategy Development & Execution: Lead the development and execution of category strategies by collaborating with business stakeholders and global/regional procurement colleagues. Gain a deep understanding of business requirements, value chain, total costs, risks, and opportunities to deliver value improvements. Bring supplier and supply market expertise to the business, including identifying and developing innovations. Plan and execute procurement activities using B. Braun’s ‘Source to Contract’ process, leading competitive tenders and negotiations as required.
  • Supplier Management & Supplier Risk Management: Take responsibility for supplier management, implementing business reviews and driving supplier performance sustainably. Work with stakeholders to develop and deploy supplier performance targets and KPIs. Ensure suppliers have the capacity, financial stability, quality, and technical capabilities to meet business requirements, and implement supplier development/risk mitigation plans as needed.
  • Operations, Reporting & Governance: Manage the Purchase Requisition process and approvals for the category in line with company policies. Accountable for cost savings and value creation in line with annual targets. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders while promoting compliance with integrity and B. Braun’s code of conduct.
  • Projects & assignments: Challenge sourcing activities, processes, and existing practices to identify and implement value engineering, operational excellence, process improvements, and new sourcing opportunities. Take initiative and lead or support improvement projects within the function and business.

What you will bring to the team:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Engineering/ Sciences preferred. At least 8 to 10 years’ experience in category management for direct materials procurement, preferably in a highly-regulated industry and MNC environment.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, internal business requirements and market dynamics with strong supplier sourcing background.
  • Strong project management experience and strong analytical problem solver with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment while working independently to resolve critical issues.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, internal business customers, and senior management. Ability to work well in a high-paced, dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion timely.
