Job Summary:

The Material Planner – Production is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely availability of materials required for production. This role involves coordinating material requirements, monitoring inventory levels, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing supply chain operations to prevent production delays. The Material Planner must work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to maintain smooth manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:1. Material Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) schedules to meet production demands.
  • Ensure raw materials, components, and supplies are available in the right quantity and at the right time.
  • Monitor and adjust material planning based on demand fluctuations, production schedules, and lead times.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstocking.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to track material movements and ensure accurate stock records.
  • Conduct regular stock analysis to identify obsolete or slow-moving materials and take necessary action.

3. Procurement Coordination:

  • Work with procurement teams to issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material quality, availability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to resolve material shortages or delivery delays.

4. Production Support:

  • Liaise with production teams to align material supply with manufacturing schedules.
  • Address material-related issues that may cause production stoppages or inefficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate bill of materials (BOM) and work closely with engineering teams for any changes.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as material availability, lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Prepare reports on material usage, forecast accuracy, and supply chain performance.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to analyze trends and improve material planning strategies.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in material planning and supply chain management.
  • Implement best practices to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance material flow.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing and inventory optimization initiatives.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM2,042.82 - RM2,300.00 per month
