PURPOSE
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, this position will be accountable to drive the on-going development and maintenance of the Group Investment Data Repository (IDR).
  • Responsible for ensuring robust data governance practices are in place, identifying critical data elements and enhancing the quality of the IDR.
  • Provides leadership and supervisory responsibility for day-to-day IDR activities and key initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manage the daily, monthly and quarterly IDR processes ensuring HFM disclosures, ECL calculations, and manual updates of investment holdings are executed timely and accurately.
  • Coordinate with Business Units to understand and analyze business requirements for any changes to the IDR.
  • Identify improvement areas and recommend enhancements in consultation with Group Investment Accounting or Group Reporting teams.
  • Perform and provide assessment and gap analysis on existing and desired system requirements and capabilities, evaluate the impact and manage the system change process.
  • Develop options and recommend solutions to meet business requirements, document the business requirements and translate requirements into system logic working with Group IT colleagues.
  • Effectively communicate requirements to system developers based on the business requirements.
  • Execute functional testing of requirements and manage overall delivery of business solutions, including UAT review, implementation monitoring, knowledge transfer and provision of post-implementation support to ensure proper implementation.
  • Provide ongoing support on SIT and UAT review, including troubleshooting & issues resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions for data quality issues in the IDR and ensure data validation checks and controls are in place to ensure accuracy and completeness of data inputs.
  • Understand changes to the investment accounting system and analyze the impact, if any, on the IDR.
  • Review documentation for all standard operating procedures related to IDR and its processes.
  • Lead and coordinate user training sessions for new processes related to the IDR.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Monthly & Quarterly IDR close completed within group defined SLAs time horizons.
  • Group-wide IDR support completed to agreed SLAs.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and demonstrate ability to work with details.
  • Support other team members for completion of ad-hoc requests, special projects, and other duties as needed.

DECISION MAKING
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to resolve IDR issues.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • University degree in Accounting/Finance/Information System or related fields.
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst is required.
  • Experience of maintaining and running a database from a business perspective is required.
  • 7+ years of working experience in business analyst roles, preferably in the insurance industry.
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Business Knowledge
  • Solid knowledge of investment products including both accounting and investment characteristics.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and drive deliverables to completion.
  • Knowledge of investment accounting fundamentals is an advantage.

  • Strong business analysis skills able to translate business requirements to functional specification is required.
Technical Skills
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Experience with Alteryx and Power BI is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Robotic Processing Automation and Artificial Intelligence tools in the market.
