Display Artist
Position Summary:
The Display Artist is responsible to support the day-to-day task assignment delegated by superior or the authorized representative for task involving maintaining theming in the resort, event props fabrication, production and installation works. You are also expected to deliver good work quality and meeting deadlines. You will work closely with your superior to achieve the objectives set for each project.
You are to embrace the vision and values of the business to deliver highest standards of safety and compliance. You will communicate and interact with co-workers, managers and senior leadership team within or across the departments by exhibiting your professionalism. You will also be required to exemplify your best behavior to your team and work well with other team members in the department/organization and to carry out assignments that are delegated by your superior in a timely manner.
Scope and Responsibilities:
1. Being part of project teams on design, maintaining, fabrication and production works.
2. To prepare and submit creative design related to the event setup when required.
3. Deliver and monitoring on event props setup quality/attention to details in order to achieve the objectives for each project.
4. Responsible to assess products/materials includes measurement, considerations for surrounding impact, work methodology prior to fabrication works to avoid possible defects and wastage of material usage.
5. Check and observe the Park wide theming and display props to ensure they are relevant and up to date.
6. To coordinate tasks/works involving beautifying, modifying and enhancing the aesthetic of the park.
7. Liaise with departments like Marketing, Operations and Commercial teams for the job requirement.
8. Follow safety procedures and emphasize proper work ethics and code of conduct.
Safety, Health & Environment Responsibilities:
1. You are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001).
2. To comply with workshop safety standard for your working area.
3. To comply with work at height (WAH) safety standard while working at height.
4. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as work gloves when handling objects with sharp edges and safety footwear when handling heavy objects.
5. Don’t lift weights that are obviously beyond your capabilities and always lift by bending your legs and not your back. Use cart wherever possible.
6. Don’t lift loads that are too bulky or too heavy. Always get assistance
7. Keep floors, passageways and working areas clean and free from obstructions. Ensure that materials are stacked neatly in a safe manner. Remove oil, grease and other slip hazards from floors as soon as possible.
8. Report hazards or obstacles likely to cause accidents as soon as noticed and fence off until repair is completed.
9. When stacking materials ensure that the stacks are stable, secure and not too high. Be particularly careful when stacking pipes to prevent rolling.
10. Use steps or ladders to reach materials that are stored overhead. Do not improvise.
11. It is good practice to maintain strict control and accurate records of goods received, goods distributed and remaining stocks. Ensure the necessary stock control and safe working processes are always adhered to whenever applicable.
Background and Experience:
· 2 years of progressive experience in related field involving with 2D and 3D thematic props fabrication.
· Experienced in 3D model & sculpture production works.
· Experienced in colouring application and implementation.
· Experienced and competent in using electrical tools, computer and office equipment and other equipment required for the work to be done.
· Familiar with software application such as Microsoft software, Adobe, AutoCAD, Sketchup and etc.
· Good communication skill.
· Demonstrated strong organizing and multi-tasking skill.
Education:
Diploma/Degree in Art & Design (Fine Art) or related field.
Physical Demands:
· Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.
· Ability to climb stairs to gain access to upper level of buildings.
· Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
· Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
· Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
