Director of Sales & Marketing - Hospitality
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in the selection and recruitment processes of Sales and Marketing staffs.
2. Develop and conduct departmental trainings, cross-trainings, and SOP refreshment trainings for all Sales and Marketing staffs.
3. Evaluate the job competency of all Sales and Marketing staffs from time to time and extensively during the departmental performance evaluation.
4. Motivate the staffs individually. Give recognition and provide counseling to them.
5. Regularly share the team’s vision and support the company’s vision to give clear directions and inspiration to the entire team.
6. Chair the daily departmental meeting and monthly Sales and Marketing meeting to ensure smooth communication among individuals and sections, to update product knowledge, to continually promote a solid team work and congenial working atmosphere within the department.
7. Have proper and updated administrative records of each staff with regards to staff performance, including ‘counseling sheet’, ‘reprimand letter’, as well as ‘recognition of a job well done’ letter, and other staff related matters.
8. Be a good role model by displaying “walk the talk” attitude at all times.
9. Check the overall neatness of staff’s uniforms and grooming.
10. Develop standard operating procedures for new tasks or changing conditions, submitting the proposed new procedures to General Manager for approval.
11. Lead and guide the Sales and Marketing team by defining target, forming strategies, directions and proper guidance.
12.Set the revenue target and overall sales strategies together with sales team and top management.
13. Achieve the agreed revenue target through proper sales interventions both in occupancy and average room rates and other revenues, such as food & beverage and other income.
14. Design and establish the rate structures for each markets and different segmentations.
15. Manage and control the sales expenditure in line with the agreed budget and whenever possible create more saving and cost efficiency.
16. Create and maintain account management, i.e. acquiring new accounts & market, maintenance of existing accounts and sufficient care of market diversification.
17. Consistently be aware of our Hotel strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, market competition and trends.
18. Provide market intelligences and continuous feedback to the top management and hotel in general.
19. Responsible for maintaining good relationship with customers at all times to uphold the good name and public image of the Hotel.
20. Manage good cooperation and open communication with all hotel’s sales & marketing representatives.
21. Cross-sell other sister property whenever opportunity arises.
22. Strategically position the property in the targeted level of marketing, image building and market positioning.
23. Drive the Marketing Communication team to work and generate result in areas of advertising, publicity and communication to support the property goals including sales target.
24. Ensure correct message is conveyed to the public and potential customers.
25. Form and decide on appropriate marketing tools or interventions used whenever new strategy/approach is adopted.
26. Proper representation of the organization to external party from the Sales and Marketing team.
27. Optimize the yield and revenue generating function.
28. Manage the room allotment including reporting, group businesses and potential high demand seasons in order to minimize overbooking situation.
29. Ensure that the reservation team and room inventory management system are in working order and being optimized.
30. Manage other reservation aspects such as no-show, cancellation and reporting/cut-off days.
31. Do any other tasks as assigned by superiors.
Requirement:
1. Bachelor's degree in a field such as Business, Marketing, or a related field.
2.At least 10 years experience in hospitality

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM14,000.00 per month
