Job Responsibilities:
Greeting and Seating Guests:
- Welcome guests warmly as they arrive.
- Manage reservations and walk-ins, ensuring efficient seating arrangements.
- Assist guests to their tables and provide them with menus.
Customer Service:
- Provide attentive and courteous service throughout the guest’s visit.
- Address customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times.
Taking Orders:
- Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests.
- Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff using the point of sale (POS) system.
- Offer recommendations and answer questions about menu items, including ingredients and dietary restrictions.
Serving Food and Beverages:
- Deliver food and drinks to tables in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure that orders are accurate and presented attractively.
- Refill drinks and check on guests regularly to ensure their needs are met.
Handling Transactions:
- Process payments, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift certificates.
- Ensure that bills are accurate and handle any discrepancies.
- Provide receipts and return any change to customers.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the dining area, bar, and restrooms clean and presentable at all times.
- Clear and reset tables quickly after guests leave.
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Coordinating with Kitchen and Bar Staff:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service.
- Monitor the status of orders and update guests on any delays or issues.
- Handle special requests and dietary needs, ensuring they are properly communicated to the kitchen.
Managing Reservations and Waitlists:
- Oversee the reservation system, managing bookings and cancellations.
- Coordinate the waitlist during busy periods, ensuring guests are informed about wait times.
Assisting with Special Events:
- Help coordinate and execute special events, private parties, and group bookings.
- Ensure that event-specific requirements are met, including seating arrangements and special menus.
Providing Feedback to Management:
- Report any issues or guest feedback to management.
- Suggest improvements based on customer feedback and your observations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the menu and ability to make informed recommendations.
- Experience with POS systems and handling cash/credit transactions.
