Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients such as chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring ingredients for recipes.
  • Ensure food is prepared in line with the kitchen's standards and procedures.

Cooking Support:

  • Assist in cooking, baking, and grilling tasks as directed by the senior chefs.
  • Follow recipes and guidelines to prepare specific dishes.

Hygiene and Safety:

  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the safe preparation and storage of food.

Stock Management:

  • Assist in the monitoring and managing of kitchen supplies.
  • Report any stock shortages or issues to the senior chefs.

Learning and Development:

  • Work closely with senior chefs to improve skills and knowledge in cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety.
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to new kitchen practices.

Assisting with Service:

  • Assist in the timely and efficient service of food during busy periods.
  • Plate dishes according to the kitchen's presentation standards.

Requirements:

  • Basic culinary training or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong interest in food preparation and cooking.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
