JOB SUMMARY
- To plan, develop, organize and evaluate in-service training and education for nursing and other staff. These programs focus on the required skills, knowledge and competencies for staff to perform the essential functions of their positions and to be fully compliant with all relevant regulations.
JOB REPONSIBILITY
- To perform a training needs analysis by collecting information from; feedback from nurses, nurse managers, doctors, incident reports, clinical audits and regulatory requirements.
- To develop training curriculums that contribute to improved individual, team and department performance.
- To design course materials, handouts, manuals, exercises and test papers.
- To apply for an allocation of CPD – Continuous Professional Development points from Nursing Board Malaysia for in-service training programs.
SUPERVISING AND EVALUATING TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS
- To develop appropriate evaluation and testing materials for all training activities and provide feedback to the hospital management.
- Monitors, evaluate and maintain records and reports of training activities and program effectiveness.
- To develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not achieved.
- To assist Quality and Nursing Department in regulatory, audit and quality review functions.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- To develop policies and procedures for in-service educational departmental work processes.
- To provide relevant documentation to Human Resources Department for HRDF reimbursement and external training programs.
- To assist in developing a departmental budget and justifying budgetary needs.
- To update on best nursing practices by reading current literature, discussing with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences and seminars.
- To assess relevant training needs for individual staff in consultation with Human Resources department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requirement:
- Degree / Diploma in Nursing and must be registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
- At least 5 years’ experience as Registered Nurse or similar capacity.
- Possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and BLS.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills.
- A team player and possess good organizational skills.
