ROLE SUMMARY
The Policy and Public Affairs Manager works in partnership with the Global Policy and Public Affairs (GPPA) in Malaysia to execute the overarching Pfizer GPPA strategies to support key Pfizer reputation and business priorities. The role serves as a thought partner in supporting execution of advocacy related activities including policy related programs and patient engagement opportunities to optimize patient access to Pfizer’s therapies and creating market access. The role will mainly establish and cultivate relations with patient advocacy groups (PAG) and related stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- In consultation with GPPA, cross-functional colleagues and aligned with Pfizer’s Purpose Blueprint, implement annual Pfizer companywide policy and advocacy engagement vision and strategies to meet short term and longer-term reputational and commercial deliverables.
- In partnership with GPPA Team, assist in identifying, developing optimal policy, advocacy engagement planning and strategies through development of collaborative platforms on policy issues specific to areas of mutual interest among Pfizer and advocacy groups.
- Responsible to execute methodologies to measure the impact of Pfizer’s overall advocacy-facing activities.
- Manage special events with advocacy community to maximize Pfizer’s presence as appropriate.
- Co-lead the conversation with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships with key policy advocates and societies andachieve our goal of being known as the most patient-centric company.
- Support optimal strategies in the engagement of external stakeholders on public policy input and national healthcare campaigns.
- Partner with GPPA to support the establishment of internal governance structure to ensure cross functional team coordination to enable: -
- Delivery of the advocacy engagement vision and strategy.
- Development, implementation, and oversight of country patient advocacy tactical engagement plans across all cross functional teams.
- Support as the local Point of Contact on the Implementation of new Corporate Policy - CP 208 -Interactions with Patients and Patient Advocacy Groups.
- Increased reach of Pfizer’s information and education resources for patients and patient organisations to commercial priorities.
- Gather insights from external stakeholders to enhance Pfizer’s understanding of therapeutic unmet needs.
- Maintain focus on the advocacy priority policy and reputational issues that present major opportunities or threats to the Enterprise over the short, medium, and long term, and support GPPA to ensure clear action plans are in place when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-8 years of experience in Corporate or Public Affairs or Market Access or Marketing strategy leadership and execution role
- Proven track record in external stakeholder engagement and management (e.g. Government, Trade Association, Patient Organization)
- Strong experience in policy-shaping, negotiation and driving public-private partnership
- Strategic and analytical mindset
- Political acuity and business acumen
- Strong influence and ability to collaborate and coordinate across cross-functional teams
- Fluent in written and verbal English

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
