Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Trainer – Mechanical Engineering to lead comprehensive training programs aligned with industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in mechanical equipment installation and maintenance within the refinery or petrochemical industry, along with strong instructional and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical course content and training programs in accordance with company requirements, covering topics such as:
- Equipment installation, routine and corrective maintenance
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Heavy lifting, scheduling, cost control, and project management
- BOQ preparation, tender bidding, and negotiation skills
- Conduct classroom and hands-on practical training in:
- Alignment and precision work, precision tools
- Welding (various types), piping, fittings, and valves
- Heat exchangers, reactors, towers, and columns, including tray works and catalyst replacement
- Pumps, compressors, turbines, scaffolding, and fabrication works
- Follow the training schedule and adjust content when necessary to enhance learning outcomes.
- Instill a strong company work culture, industry best practices, and safety standards in the workforce.
- Assess trainees' performance, evaluate program effectiveness, and suggest improvements for continuous enhancement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in mechanical equipment installation and maintenance in refineries or petrochemical plants, with at least 3 years in a trainer role.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and instructional software for training purposes.
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); multilingual ability is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in alignment, welding inspection, project management (e.g., Primavera), or similar fields are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical trainer with strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt training methods for different audience levels.
- Experience in a multinational work environment.
- Strong organizational and management capabilities.
