Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Manage escalationswith both carriers and customers
- Facilitate prompt issue resolution and address customer service complaints
- Timely forward suggested corrective actions or issues needing additionalattention to the Logistics Manager
- Provideshipment routing or tracking support to the team as needed, to ensure adequate coverage of service
- Distribute and maintaina balanced workload efficiently among team members
- Regularly review team’s shipment volume data to ensure fair distribution of workload amongst the team
- Review findings with Logistics Manager to discuss any necessary adjustment in team resources to efficiently support the volume
- Monitor team KPIs (key performance indicators) and identifyand implement improvement opportunities
- Run other standard or ad hoc reports as needed to support customer or internal team needs
- Monitor and maintainteam’s data integrity and quality of TMS data input
- Monitor the team’s tracking performance daily and ensure tracking is up-to-date
- Consistently seek out opportunities to eliminateinefficiencies and improveoverall team productivity, from both a process and systemsstandpoint
- Identifyand initiatetechnical enhancements, via the on-time feature process. Including calculating and providingcost justification of requested IT/ALA enhancements
- Manage IT projects and special projects
- Capture and maintainlist of team’s Kudos & Complaints and provideKudos to marketing team as requested
- Ensure client satisfaction
- Prepare and participatein clientpresentationsand regular meetings
- Travel to client locations as needed
- Participate in the interview process for potential new team members
- Draft and maintaintraining schedules for new team members
- Providetraining for new and existingteam membersas needed, or delegate training responsibilities to appropriate existing team members
- Training and support for internal andexternal users of TMS system (ALA/OTM)
- Act as back up to the Logistics Manager as requested
- Schedule team coverage and cross training initiatives
- Manage on-call shift for team members
- Supervise and manage employees in regards to:
- Time sheets and time off
- Performance reviews and Personal Development Plans (PDP’s)
- Disciplinary action and corrective counseling
- Policy compliance
