Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform Metro-E equipment log analysis and prepare the initial matrix information document.
- Lead and conduct weekly war room meetings to review migration preparations with the project team and customers.
- Collaborate with customers on migration information exchange, port mapping, network planning, and matrix information updates and verification.
- Develop Method of Procedure (MOP) documents and migration scripts for Metro-E and NGT nodes based on the matrix information.
- Provide on-site support at the customer office during migration activities, specifically for nodes during migration nights.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide technical solutions on-site based on project requirements.
- Generate and report network monitoring KPIs post-migration to ensure network performance meets agreed-upon standards.
- Offer post-event support for major operations and respond to customer requests as needed.
- Communicate with RC & R&D teams to address network incidents and ensure timely resolution based on incident severity.
- Support night activities as required by the customer.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Network/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer in the telecommunications industry, focusing on the IP domain.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, data communication technologies, and network architecture.
- Expertise in interpreting service performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring network performance.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Experience with TM Metro-E networks will be highly valued.
- CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Python scripting is a plus.
