Mechanical Completions Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Completion Planning & Preparation
- Develop project deliverables as per client and project requirements.
- Prepare project Inspection Test Record (ITR) portfolio documents.
- Develop MC & Commissioning Handover Management documentation.
- Create and manage ITR assignment matrices.
- Establish company work methodologies and procedures.
- Attend supplier KOM meetings to roll out MC requirements.
- Design ITR processes for major vendor packages and semi-modules (vendor works).
- Review tag registers issued by engineering teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, resolving any discrepancies.
- Assign and validate system ITRs and certificates in the Completion Management System (CMS).
- Issue ITRs to the execution team in a timely manner.
- Provide CMS training and completions rollout support to project teams and subcontractors.
Mechanical Completion Execution
- Manage project changes and update relevant databases.
- Generate weekly MC & punch list reports from CMS and support construction meetings.
- Oversee daily updates of ITRs and punch lists in CMS, supporting site teams as needed.
- Coordinate supplier FAT phase punch items for successful completion.
- Review completed ITRs from site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, construction teams, and commissioning engineers.
- Support the preparation of Mechanical Completion Dossiers (MCD) and System Completion Dossiers (SCD).
Mechanical Completion Coordination
- Participate in meetings with the engineering team to resolve tag issues.
- Independently interact with vendors and subcontractors to address comments or queries on completion database deliverables.
- Coordinate with other engineering departments to obtain necessary supplier documents and details.
- Communicate with construction, QAQC personnel, package engineers, and commissioning engineers to ensure ITRs are completed per commissioning priorities.
- Provide and implement lessons learned and best practices from previous project experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a Technical College Certificate.
- Experience in EPC projects within the onshore/offshore oil & gas or FPSO sector.
- Proven track record of mechanical completion & commissioning on at least two FPSO projects covering marine and topside modules.
