Senior Manager, Strategic Finance
Job Summary
Assist Head, Strategic Finance in delivering timely and high-quality services, including but not limited to reporting, budgeting and assets & liabilities management for the Bank and its subsidiaries. This role provides insights into financial performance, drive efficiency and supports the organization's strategic and financial goals. This role also provides accounting advice to the business on all services and products offered by the Bank.
Job Description
- Assist in developing and refining financial forecast/budget by analysing historical trends, market conditions and key assumptions.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely submission.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance, cost trends and revenue drivers.
- Support Capital & Asset Liability Management team ensuring optimal funding and liquidity strategies.
- Work with Capital & Asset Liability Management team to analyse net interest margin, funding structures and capital allocation.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with financial reporting standards and Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) Policy Documents.
- Provide accounting advice on new financing structure, products and business initiatives.
- Oversee OPEX and CAPEX tracking, ensuring cost efficiency and budget control.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Act as a financial advisor to Business Units and key stakeholders.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide decision-making and financial strategy.
- Work closely with Business Units to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business goals.
- Assist in conducting financial scenario analysis and risk assessments for business planning.
- Improve the accuracy and efficiency of management reporting/financial planning/budgeting through automation and process enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with internal control, applicable financial reporting standards, BNM Policy Documents and other related regulations, and maintain proper documentation of financial processes.
- Assist in implementing digital tools and analytics dashboards to enhance financial tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with other functions for value added services.
- Support in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Stay updated on financial regulations, industry trends and emerging best practices.
- Participate in profession development programmes (relevant new and revised financial reporting standards, Islamic Accounting, etc) and encourage innovation within the team.
- Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives to enhance financial operations.
Job Requirement
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance. Professional qualification in Finance/Accountancy is an added advantage.
- At least 6-8 years of relevant working experience with at least 2 years working experience at managerial level.
