The Assistant Manager Trade Activation is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing trade marketing activities that influence shopper behavior, drive in-store sales, and enhance customer experience. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, retail partners, and external agencies to deliver shopper-centric solutions that align with the company’s overall business goals. The focus is on creating trade programs that influence the shopper’s purchase decision through tailored in-store and retail experiences, backed by data-driven insights.

Shopper-Centric Campaigns: Develop and execute trade activation strategies and promotional campaigns that appeal directly to the shopper, ensuring the brand and product are top of mind at the point of purchase.
Retail Activation: Partner with retailers to design in-store activation programs, including product displays, point-of-sale materials, digital signage, and other shopper engagement tactics.
Consumer Insights: Analyze shopper data and trends to understand consumer behavior and preferences, tailoring campaigns to address those insights.
Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, and category management teams to ensure trade programs align with overall brand strategy and sales objectives.
Shopper Experience: Ensure that shopper journeys are seamless across all retail channels by creating experiences that resonate with target consumers and drive conversion.
Promotions & Incentives: Develop and execute promotional activities such as giveaways, and contests to drive in-store traffic and encourage purchases.
Budget Management: Oversee the budget for trade activation initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and optimizing return on investment.
Measurement & Reporting: Track and evaluate the effectiveness of shopper trade activations through KPIs such as sales growth, shopper engagement, and ROI. Make data-driven decisions to refine and improve future campaigns.
Retailer & Partner Relationships: Build strong relationships with key retail partners to ensure successful implementation and execution of shopper activation programs.
Training & Support: Provide guidance and support to field teams and retail staff to ensure the successful execution of trade initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferred).

  • A few years of experience in shopper marketing, trade marketing, or related roles.

  • Experience in managing shopper-focused campaigns and retail activations.

  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and retail dynamics.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in analyzing market data and extracting actionable insights.

Skills
Shopper Insights: Deep understanding of shopper behavior and how to influence decisions at the point of purchase.
Creativity: Ability to design innovative and engaging shopper activation programs.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to measure campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies based on results.
Project Management: Highly organized with a proven ability to manage complex projects from concept to execution.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with various teams, including sales, marketing, and external partners.
Retail Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the retail environment and consumer touchpoints across various channels.
