Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This role involves implementing quality control systems, analyzing production processes, identifying defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, inspection procedures, and testing protocols for assembled consumer good.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on defective products and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor assembly line performance and ensure compliance with quality specifications.

Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize assembly processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Use statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean methodologies) to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.

Testing & Validation

  • Design and oversee testing procedures (e.g., durability, functionality, safety) to validate product performance.
  • Ensure products meet industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001 or ISO13485) and customer-specific requirements.

Documentation & Report

  • Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Prepare quality metrics and reports for management review and customer audits.

Supplier & Material Quality

  • Work with suppliers to ensure raw materials and components meet quality specifications.
  • Conducted supplier audits and resolved quality issues related to incoming material.

Training & Collabo

  • Train assembly line staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Partner with design, engineering, and production teams to address quality issues during product development and manufacturing.

Regulatory Com

  • Ensure adherence to relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for consumer goods (e.g., FDA, CE, RoHS, depending on the product)

Qualification:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in consumer goods manufacturing or assembly.
  • Proficiency in quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D problem-solving).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and materials used in consumer goods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001 or ISO13485).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Language: English, Malay, and Mandarin.
  • Certifications (Preferred) Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or similar.
