Junior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for the Sandakan site project. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in the management and control of costs related to construction projects, ensuring the project is completed within the agreed budget and timescales. You will work closely with senior quantity surveyors and project managers to provide support in estimating, procurement, contract administration, and cost reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Monitor project costs and track variations to ensure alignment with the budget.
• Prepare and review bills of quantities, and assist in the procurement of materials and services.
• Assist in contract administration, including the preparation and review of contracts, progress claims, and payments.
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure cost-effective practices.
• Assist in resolving disputes related to costs and contractual matters.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure efficient cost control.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs and ensure timely reporting.

Key Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A basic understanding of construction processes, contracts, and cost control methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of cost management software is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
