A well renowned architectural interior design consulting firm that specializes in creating custom commercial, retail, hospitality and residential spaces is currently seeking for Business Development Manager to be based in our Singapore office. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work closely with the Singapore team to create strong sales pipelines as well as develop and maintain key relationships with potential network connection within the Commercial Office space.

Your new role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be the key figure in bringing in sales revenue and obtaining sustainable clients within the Commercial Office Interior Design (ID) Fit Out space for the Malaysia (MY) region. In addition, you will be accountable for new business expansions, building brand awareness, budgeting, winning projects and be the first line to the organization’s clients. These will all translate towards you delivering a truly client-centric solution for multinational and local companies across Southeast Asia.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare sales business plans to increase market share and deliver the growth strategy of the business taking cognizance of opportunities and market conditions - to drive market growth and increase profitability of the company.
  • To achieve sales target per annum financial year (December) by the executive and other key performance measures. Working together with Group CEO towards maximizing profits and minimizing cost - Analyzing the financial cash flow statement, P&L together with the other statements understanding the accurate representation of a company's financial health.
  • Working together with Group CEO in ensuring project management standards are up to industry standards by securing best prices and ensure contract margin meets AI targets for all projects, in order to maximize the profitability together with the QS
  • Excellent in building rapport and trust with new prospect, clients, contractors, key partners, subordinates and/ or stakeholders.
  • Submitting monthly report and forecast of projects to the management.
  • To liaise closely with the interior designers, marketing team, contractors, suppliers and related parties for the resources needed for business development and/or participation of during the submission
  • Grow and maintain current business portfolio, identifying new market opportunities and High Potential clients or prospects and create and implement sales strategies to develop new business and achieve sales targets and results
  • Increase confidence in and the reputation of the business in respect of all stakeholders, driving brand awareness and loyalty
  • To work closely with the team in devising growth strategy and be involved in sales pitching and presentations, as well as secure invitations for RFP/ Tenders. This also involves preparing proposals/ quotations, RFP and tender responses to ensure proper submission.
  • To negotiate and close new business deals while building existing client relations by coordinating contract requirements with business operations
  • Must be able to attend meetings from the stages of design briefing till the project completion
  • Warrant that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with current legal and company specific regulations and ensure the CRM system is managed optimally and maintained

What you'll need to succeed

  • Work experience of at least 5 to 7 years specializing in Business Development for the Interior Design or Interior Architecture (Commercial Office ID Fit-Out space).
  • Sales Driven / Target Driven Experience with client management and relationship activities, preferably in a professional services environment. Possess strong network clientele within the commercial office design space.
  • Strong communication skills to advocate for and present ideas to our clients, English and Mandarin speaking candidates would be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, particularly MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter, driven and able to work in fast-changing or ambiguous environments.
