About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. You will work closely with other teams to design and implement database solutions, ensure data availability and disaster recovery, and optimize database performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain large-scale relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

• Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and applications.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks. · Design and implement database architectures, including clustering, replication, and backup strategies.

• Perform regular database backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

• Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations, managing access and permissions.

• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize queries, stored procedures, and database objects.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance tuning, locking, and data corruption.

• Set up and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.

• Manage database migrations, updates, and patches in a timely and efficient manner.

• Develop and maintain database documentation, including design, procedures, and security protocols.

• Provide on-call support for database-related incidents and issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) working with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

• Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.

• Hands-on experience with database backup and recovery strategies.

• Experience with database high availability and clustering solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, MySQL Cluster, Oracle RAC).

• Strong knowledge of database security practices and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

• Experience with scripting languages for database automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

• Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.

• Experience with database monitoring and management tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Nagios).

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex database issues.
