Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Anti Money Laundering (AML) Agent located in Subang Jaya. The AML Agent is responsible for monitoring and analyzing transactions to identify potential money laundering activities. Daily tasks include conducting investigations, preparing reports, staying updated on regulatory requirements, and working closely with the compliance team to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented KYC/AML Agent to join our compliance team. As a KYC/AML Agent, you will be responsible for performing Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screenings on clients to ensure the company is fully compliant with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of financial crimes, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance, as well as excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
KYC (Know Your Customer) Procedures: Perform KYC checks on new and existing clients by collecting, verifying, and reviewing identity documentation and supporting information to meet regulatory requirements.
AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Screening: Conduct initial screening of clients and transactions for potential risks, including reviewing databases for sanctions lists, PEPs (Politically Exposed Persons), and adverse media reports.
Customer Risk Assessment: Evaluate customer profiles to assign risk ratings based on internal policies and procedures, escalating high-risk cases for further investigation.
Documentation Review: Ensure that all required documentation is accurately collected and stored for KYC compliance, including verifying the authenticity of submitted documents.
Suspicious Activity Reporting: Identify and escalate suspicious activity and transactions to the relevant compliance team members and assist in the preparation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with local and international AML/KYC regulations, ensuring that all activities comply with legal requirements.
Internal Communication: Collaborate with internal teams such as legal, operations, and compliance to address customer-related issues and provide clarification on KYC/AML concerns.
Customer Communication: Contact clients directly to gather necessary information, clarify discrepancies, or request additional documentation for KYC verification.
AML Monitoring and Alerts: Review and respond to AML monitoring alerts in a timely manner, conducting necessary follow-ups on flagged transactions.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and updated customer records in the system, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in KYC/AML compliance, financial services, or a related field.
- Familiarity with KYC/AML regulations and financial crime prevention.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with sensitive data.
- Good understanding of customer verification processes and risk assessments.
- Experience with KYC/AML software and monitoring systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of financial crime, including money laundering methods and fraud schemes.
