Position: Service Build Engineer – Build Team (L2 Developer/Engineer)

Technical Skills Required:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain build automation scripts for JBoss, Weblogic, and MQ-based applications.
  • Ensure continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for middleware applications.
  • Work on Kafka messaging setup, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Support RHEL-based applications and middleware components in pre-production and production environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Weblogic, JBoss, MQ, and Kafka services for stability and performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and performance tuning for application servers.
  • Manage and optimize Oracle & MySQL databases for application performance.
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
  • Develop Unix shell scripts for system monitoring, automation, and log analysis.
  • Configure and optimize system resources (CPU, Memory, Disk I/O) on Linux servers.
  • Implement file system permissions, security policies, and access control mechanisms.
  • Provide L3-level technical support for build failures, middleware issues, and database connectivity problems.
  • Investigate and resolve complex system integration and deployment issues.
  • Work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and troubleshooting playbooks.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for build and deployment automation.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in build engineering, application support, and middleware administration.
  • Strong experience with RHEL/Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in JBoss, Weblogic, IBM MQ, and Kafka deployment & maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Oracle/MySQL database management and SQL scripting.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix shell scripting and automation.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, configuration management, and system monitoring.
  • Experience in handling L3 production support issues, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but a Plus):

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • AWS/GCP Certified Engineer (Cloud knowledge preferred)
  • ITIL Certification for Incident & Problem Management
