Position Mechanical Design Engineer
Report to Engineering Manager
Department Mechanical Design
Primary Function:
a. Be creative and proactive contributor to the designing team, focused on continuous improvement.
b. Work on a project from the initial brief, through the design and development stage, to the testing of one or more prototypes, right through to final manufacture.
c. Develop and design a mechanical system or hardware for projects assigned.
d. Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.
e. Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs.
f. Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
g. Liaise with the system control department in optimizing equipment performance.
h. Liaise with customers or suppliers in defining the technical requirements or specs on the assigned projects.
Secondary Function:
a. Provide guidance and proper jigs & fixtures to perform equipment calibration and alignments.
b. Ensure mechanical designs integrate well with other sections by involving himself/herself heavily in the equipment assembly, integration, and test run.
c. Generate and update mechanical part drawings, pneumatic schematics diagram and BOM list.
d. To source, select and purchase all the materials of mechanical components.
e. To provide technical support and resolve design issues.
Qualification requirements:
• Minimum Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent and above.
Working experience requirement:
• At least 2 years working experience in mechanical design or related, and above.
Organization Knowledge requirement:
• Proficient in 3D CAD software; SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Competencies/Skills/knowledge requirement:
• Knowledge in Advance Pneumatic
• Communication skills
