Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and maintaining Active Directory (AD), virtualization platforms, and Windows-based environments (Wintel). You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our IT systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including group policies, user accounts, and access controls.
  • Perform AD migrations, upgrades, and health checks.
  • Monitor AD replication, manage DNS, and ensure AD environment security.
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or other solutions.
  • Optimize virtual machine (VM) performance and resource utilization.
  • Implement failover clustering and disaster recovery for virtualized environments.
  • Install, configure, and manage Windows-based servers.
  • Monitor server performance, patch management, and OS updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on Wintel systems.
  • Ensure system availability and reliability through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Perform regular system backups, updates, and recovery tasks.
  • Implement security best practices for Windows and virtualized environments.
  • Conduct audits and maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO, GDPR, etc.).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support IT initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in IT systems administration or engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AD, virtualization technologies, and Wintel systems.
  • Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Expertise in virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS.
  • Experience with backup solutions, scripting (PowerShell), and monitoring tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) is advantageous.
