Technology Sourcing Consultant
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Procurement / Sourcing Expert to provide ethical and professional procurement processes to protect the interest of the organization in dealing with third party service providers & ensure that all technology goods/services procured are in accordance with being client focused, bring value for money, cost controlled and comply with the AIA's policy, standards & procedures
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive technology procurement strategies aligned with the organization's overall business goals to drive efficiency and support strategic growth.
- Understand and incorporate industry best practices in technology sourcing to enhance the procurement process and strategy, ensuring the organization stays competitive and innovative.
2. Sourcing Management & Negotiation
- Evaluate and select vendors through structured RFP processes, ensuring fair and data-driven decision-making to secure the best partners for the organization.
- Assess vendor capabilities, including organizational structure, financial stability, and historical performance, to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure the costs provided by vendors are competitive by conducting market analysis and benchmarking to maximize value for the organization.
- Oversee and lead contract negotiation strategies for the most complex and strategic purchasing categories to secure favorable terms and conditions to safeguard the organization’s interests.
- Ensure all sourcing processes comply with organizational standards and uphold the highest ethical standards to maintain integrity and trust.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and aggregate critical contract information to support service owners and key stakeholders on vendor engagement, cost-effectiveness, and risk assessment to drive informed decisions.
- Utilize procurement data analytics to track and report key functional metrics, reducing expenses and improving effectiveness to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Process Improvement
- Enhance technology sourcing and procurement processes, leveraging deep industry knowledge to improve organizational capabilities, driving innovation and performance.
- Implement technology procurement frameworks and processes, including end-to-end contracting strategies and supplier performance management to ensure structured and effective procurement operations.
5. Collaboration and Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with other procurement professionals within the organization, sharing knowledge and best practices to build a cohesive and skilled procurement team.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance procurement capabilities, ensuring the organization remains competitive and forward-thinking.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT/Computer Science, Engineering, Materials Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tech sales, procurement, or commercial vendor management (contracts, asset management, procurement). Knowledge of the financial services or insurance industry is preferred.
- Proven experience and track record of successful deal shaping (i.e., sourcing and contract negotiation) with external suppliers/service providers.
- Hands-on experience working with local tech vendors (must-have) or global technology vendors (optional).
- Ability to manage vendor relationships, assess proposals, and challenge vendors on pricing, solutions, and contract terms.
- Strong understanding of IT organizations, IT delivery models, and technology drivers. Familiarity with forward-looking technology areas such as Generative AI, Analytics, and OCR is an added advantage.
- Ability to identify IT sourcing cost reduction models, including new cloud-based models.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex industry concepts in non-technical terms.
- Effective stakeholder management – builds relationships and collaborates effectively.
