Work Summary:

  • The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities within a facility or organization to achieve the department objectives which aligned with the company goal.
  • This role involves managing a team of maintenance, technicians, developing and implementing maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing maintenance processes to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Responsible for the upkeep, repair, and continuous improvement of the facility's infrastructure and utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • To carry out duties not listed above as and when directed by the superior if circumstances warrants so.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Assign tasks, provide training, and evaluate performance to ensure high productivity and adherence to quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.

2. Maintenance Planning and scheduling:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules to ensure the timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize disruptions and downtime while maximizing equipment availability.
  • Utilize maintenance management software or other tools to track work orders, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.

3. Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

  • Oversee the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance procedures and protocols to extend equipment lifespan and minimize breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing when necessary.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations governing maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards or risks.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

5. Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Optimize resource utilization and procurement processes to achieve cost-effective maintenance operations without compromising quality of safety standards.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction within the maintenance department.
  • Implement best practice, innovative technologies, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and encourage team members to contribute ideas for enhancing maintenance processes and workflows.

Work Requirements:

Education:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 10 years of technical experiences with minimum of 5 years experiences in FMCG manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge in rotating equipment, automation, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning.
  • Planning, managing, and hands-on experience in the areas of Preventive Maintenance planning and management, Equipment Repair & Maintenance management, and Spare Parts Management.
  • Knowledge of managing, budgeting, and controlling budgets.

Skills:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and AutoCAD.

  • Good leader with the ability to inspire confidence, collaborate with and influence others in the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech with all levels of company management and with other internal and external contacts.
