Work Summary
- The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities within a facility or organization.
- This role involves assisting with team leadership, maintenance planning and scheduling, equipment maintenance and repair, safety and compliance, budget management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Planning and supervise for the upkeep, repair, and continuous improvement of the facility's infrastructure and utility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- To carry out duties not listed above as and when directed by the superior if circumstances warrant so.
Work Responsibilities:
1. Support Maintenance Operations:
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in leading and supervising the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance activities as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
2. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance tasks, corrective repairs, and equipment inspections, to ensure optimal equipment reliability and availability.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history using maintenance software or other tools
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations governing maintenance operations.
- Assist in conducting safety inspections, audits, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of safety protocols, procedures, and emergency response plans.
4. Budget Management:
- Assist in managing the maintenance department budget by tracking expenses, monitoring resource utilization, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Help with procurement processes, including sourcing parts and supplies, obtaining quotes from vendors, and managing inventory levels to support maintenance activities cost-effectively.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, streamline workflows, and improve equipment reliability.
- Assist in implementing best practices, innovative technologies, and performance metrics to drive operational excellence an achieve maintenance goals.
- Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional collaboration efforts to support a culture of continuous improvement.
Work Requirements:
Education:
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- 5 years of technical experiences with minimum of 3 years experiences in FMCG manufacturing plant.
- Knowledge in rotating equipment, automation, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning.
- Planning, managing, and hands-on experience in the areas of Preventive Maintenance planning and management, Equipment Repair & Maintenance management, and Spare Parts Management.
Skills:
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and AutoCAD.
- Good leadership and people management skills.
