Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee import/export operations.

- Manage the entire logistics to enhance customer satisfaction.

- Monitor and manage budgets for transportation and delivery operations.

- Ensure safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment.
- Coordinate with transportation teams to schedule shipments.
- Manage crew of drivers ensure they comply to delivery schedule
- Review and plan transportation schedules for the delivery of goods.
- Prepare shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customs requirements for shipments.
- Maintain records of logistics activities, including transportation costs, delays, and issues.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on logistics performance and other assigned duties
- Communicate with transporters and freight carriers to arrange shipments.
- Resolve issues with delayed or damaged shipments promptly.
- Collaborate with internal departments like procurement, sales, and customer service for seamless operations.
- Update stakeholders on logistics progress and issues.
- Troubleshoot logistical challenges, such as transportation delays, inventory discrepancies, or damaged goods.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Handle last-minute changes or urgent delivery requests.
- Monitor transportation and logistics expenses to stay within budget.
- Optimize routes and shipping methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Negotiate with transport company for better rates and terms.
- Train team members on compliance and safety best practices.
Daily Tasks
- Review the day’s delivery schedule.
- Check for any issues or delays with shipments in transit.
- Communicate with the warehouse team about inventory and dispatch tasks.
- Handle incoming and outgoing shipment documentation.
- Monitor transportation progress and resolve any mid-day disruptions.
- Update management and customers on delivery statuses.
- Analyze performance metrics and address any inefficiencies.
- Plan logistics activities for the following day.
- Document the day's activities and report to senior management.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in logistics or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in warehouse management.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in analytics tools like Excel, or ERP systems.
- Experience with customs regulations.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade practices.
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
