The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Disaster Risk Reduction Officer (DRR Officer) to join our team under the Disaster Management Department. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies in line with MRC’s disaster management policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify high-risk areas.
- Plan and execute community-based DRR programs to reduce disaster impacts.
- Develop training modules and conduct workshops to enhance disaster preparedness.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of DRR programs.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations to advance DRR initiatives.
- Support emergency response operations with a focus on DRR.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in disaster risk reduction or a related field.
- Experience in community-based DRR programs and risk assessment.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and willingness to be deployed to disaster-affected areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in GIS, early warning systems, and nature-based solutions.
- Professional certification in risk assessment or climate resilience.
- Experience in report writing and project proposal development.
