Job Description Summary

The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Facilities Manager and team in planning, coordinating, and overseeing site-based facilities management and workplace services. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance, safety, maintenance, and serviceability of assigned sites.
Depending on project needs, they may work independently or within a team, managing assigned tasks and collaborating with stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and leadership teams.
Key performance measures include attention to detail, timely delivery, and high-quality outcomes. As a client-facing role, strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills are essential.

About the role:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines within the assigned remit.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and well-maintained portfolio that meets project performance expectations.
  • Respond effectively to risks, hazards, incidents, and emergencies within delegated authority.
  • Assist in planning and executing the Site Facilities Management and Operations Plan, including inspections and maintenance.
  • Support supplier management, including contracts, relationships, and service administration.
  • Prepare and present facilities management reports covering performance, costs, incidents, and service delivery.
  • Assist in budget estimation, tracking, and expense control for both OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Manage commercial contracting and procurement processes, including vendor payments.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and expertise to support C&W’s commitments.
  • Handle facilities administration and documentation, ensuring proper storage and retrieval.

About you:

  • Relevant Qualifications / Certifications in FM related topics, such as Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, Building/ Facilities/ Real Estate Management are preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in comparable roles (including developmental roles)
  • Possess a developing knowledge of building systems and property operations (such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building management and control and/or related systems knowledge and competencies)
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills (ideally multi-lingual)
  • Demonstrable leadership experience with high-performing teams
