Job Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of warehouse activities. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing goods and materials, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods and materials.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or shipment.
- Perform regular stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
2. Warehouse Operations:
- Load and unload goods manually or using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Maintain proper storage of goods in designated areas.
- Ensure adherence to safety and organizational protocols during handling and storage.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
- Update and maintain inventory records using manual logs or warehouse management software.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.
4. Workplace Maintenance:
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report maintenance needs.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Support team members and contribute to an efficient workflow.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum SPM holder or its equivalent
- Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of inventory software and systems.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
