JOB SUMMARY
Perform Vessel Inspector task and ensuring that procedures involving vessel inspection are being followed as per Vessel Inspector - SOP, Loading/Unloading SOP, Mooring SOP & other related SOP for Vessel Inspection & Marine Operations. Plays active leadership role in shift to ensure safety of all activities related to Vessel Inspection & Marine Operations.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
i. Primary Task
- Lead the berthing & unberthing operation as per Mooring SOP
- Perform expected task as Vessel Inspector according to the Vessel Inspector SOP, Loading/Unloading SOP, Mooring SOP & other related SOP for Vessel Inspection & Marine Operations.
- Coordinates all activities related to the loading and discharge of cargo and ensure all the related parties follow the terminal regulation and requirement at all times.
- Control the quantity of cargo to be loaded/unloaded onto/from the vessels.
- Performing routine inspection on vessel condition, wharf equipment and cargo condition.
- Monitor vessel ballast/de-ballast operation to avoid for any arising issue that could resulting in delay for the loading and unloading operation.
- Prepare all the paperwork involved for the cargo shipment.
- Update the vessel mooring arrangement and coordinate with mooring gang accordingly.
- Act as focal person to communicate with pilot for berthing and un-berthing of the vessel.
- Responsible to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Achieve zero LTI and drive the safety culture in the terminal.
- Ensure that safe working practices according to Company rules, policy and procedures.
ii. Secondary Task (if any)
- Control contracted services through follow up to achieve efficiency and effectiveness operational flow.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Marine Engineering field or equivalent qualification.
- Able to perform Draft Survey for Bulk Vessel.
- Experience in Bulk Vessel & Port Operations is an advantage.
- Willing to work on shift.
MAIN CHALLENGES
- Dealing with multinational vessel crew.
- To ensure safety of vessel operations.
- Performing draft survey using boat.
