Job Summary

As a Duty Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily front office operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience, and upholding Alila’s commitment to personalized luxury. You will be a key point of contact for VIP guests, oversee service standards, and step in as the senior leader in the absence of higher management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist all VIP guests, ensuring their experience is exceptional.
  • Oversee arrivals, departures, and special attention guests, ensuring smooth check-ins and check-outs.
  • Monitor and manage room availability, coordinating with reservations for group check-ins and cancellations.
  • Assist the Assistant Front Office Manager in developing and refining departmental policies and procedures, ensuring Hyatt brand standards are consistently implemented and upheld.
  • Handle guest complaints, service recovery, and special requests with professionalism.
  • Supervise night audit procedures and ensure financial transactions, credit adjustments, and rebates are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external agencies to optimize guest services.
  • Ensure the security of room keys, safe deposit boxes, and guest belongings.
  • Oversee and maintain the lobby areas (Ground Floor & Level 41), ensuring cleanliness and a welcoming ambiance.
  • Act as Chief Warden and First Aid Officer, leading emergency response efforts as needed.
  • Support and mentor Front Office team members, ensuring adherence to Hyatt and Alila brand standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings, monitor team grooming, and drive upselling opportunities.
  • Lead hotel operations in the absence of senior management, ensuring a smooth and efficient guest experience.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a Front Office Team as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Duty Manager within an upmarket or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and remain composed under pressure.
  • A natural leader with strong coaching, mentoring, and motivational abilities to inspire the team and drive outstanding results.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
  • Passion for creating unique and effortless guest experiences.
