Position Overview:

As a Head of Account at YC Capital Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for overseeing budget management activities, including the development, monitoring, and analysis of budgets to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, efficient resource allocation, and effective cost control measures.

Responsibilities:

You are required to perform these job functions:

  • Able to handle FULL sets of accounts and assist in preparation of monthly full set accounts, financial and management reports (including Consolidation report)
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including account payable/receivable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws and company standards.
  • Drive the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate and lead the preparation for annual audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure the audit process is efficient and compliant.
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics, providing insights and analyses to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor, train, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager and other senior management to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Lead special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements, to enhance the financial infrastructure of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA, CA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing a comprehensive set of books and records and the production of financial statements.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting tools.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
