Job Description

As a yakiniku restaurant service crew, your role goes beyond just serving food. You will be responsible for interactive tableside grilling, engaging customer interactions, and deep knowledge of meat cuts and sake, creating a unique and memorable yakiniku dining experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

· Customer Interaction: Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating an enjoyable and lively dining atmosphere.

· Tableside Grilling Service: Grill meat at the customer’s table while explaining different cuts, textures, flavors, and the best grilling techniques to enhance their dining experience.

· Meat & Beverage Knowledge: Be well-versed in different cuts of Wagyu, beef, and pork, and recommend the best pairings with the restaurant’s exclusive selection of sake and beer.

· Sake & Beer Pairing: Introduce guests to premium sake selections and guide them on how to pair them with yakiniku. The restaurant serves different beer and you will need to understand its characteristics and promote it effectively.

· Order Taking & Serving: Accurately record guest orders, ensure timely food delivery, and assist with cashier duties when needed.

· Maintaining Cleanliness & Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a clean and high-quality dining environment.

· Teamwork: Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and service team to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Requirements

· Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification

· Must have typhoid vaccination and a valid food handling certification

· English proficiency is required, and Mandarin is an added advantage for effective communication with a diverse range of customers.

· Additional allowance of up to RM1,000 for those proficient in Japanese and holding a sake certification (e.g., SSI International Kikisake-shi)

· Outgoing, talkative, and proactive in engaging with customers and creating a lively atmosphere

· Neat and professional appearance that aligns with the restaurant’s modern brand image

· Passion for Japanese culture and yakiniku with a willingness to learn and share knowledge

· Able to handle a fast-paced work environment and perform efficiently under pressure, especially during peak hours
