Job Description:
The role will be responsible for managing Shopee Malaysia’s PR initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving impactful results. This role requires a strong analytical approach to PR strategy, effective stakeholder management, and the ability to handle crisis communications. The candidate will oversee external PR agencies, collaborate with multiple internal departments, and provide data-driven insights to senior management.

Public Relations Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement results-driven PR strategies to enhance Shopee’s brand presence across business verticals, including ShopeeFood and other operational teams;
  • Align PR initiatives with business goals, ensuring measurable impact on brand perception and awareness;
  • Manage PR campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination between internal and external stakeholders.
Agency & Stakeholder Management:
  • Oversee and manage PR agencies, ensuring quality deliverables and alignment with Shopee’s objectives;
  • Work closely with internal teams (Operations, Fleet Management, Marketing, Government Affairs, etc.) to ensure cohesive communication strategies;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and government entities.
Crisis Management:
  • Develop crisis communication strategies and manage responses during potential brand or reputational risks;
  • Work with internal teams to mitigate negative press and ensure consistent messaging;
  • Act as a key liaison for media inquiries and reputation management efforts.
Budget Management:
  • Oversee and manage the PR budget, ensuring cost-effective execution of campaigns and initiatives;
  • Allocate resources efficiently across PR activities, ensuring maximum impact while staying within budget constraints;
  • Work with finance teams to track expenditures and report on budget utilization.
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Monitor PR campaign performance and provide data-driven insights to optimize future initiatives;
  • Prepare reports and analyses to present to senior management, ensuring transparency in PR effectiveness;
  • Track media coverage and sentiment to evaluate Shopee’s public perception.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Relations, Communications, or related fields, preferably within a fast-paced industry;
  • Strong experience in managing PR agencies and multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in developing data-driven PR strategies and measuring impact.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in analytics and basic presentation tools (Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
